Hello Stokksnes!
5am wake up call! I am not a morning person, but getting up early for our next destination was worth it. Stokksnes is not far from Hofn. It was about a 20 minute drive. There is a fee to access the beach. It was around 7 isk per person. There is a kiosk on the side of the building.
We were the first to arrive and enjoyed having the beach to ourselves for the moment. Stokksnes is a place that you have to experience to really appreciate the beauty.
Enchanting
Once we were done admiring the view, we took a walk over to a lighthouse and then ended our visit with coffee and waffles at the Viking Cafe.
On our way to Seydisfjordur we found a random red chair. Of course we pulled over to to take a few photos
20 minutes later we found Hvalnes Lighthouse
We finally made it to Seydisfjordur. We were planning on staying here for the night, but the town was expected to get snow so we decided to hang out for a little before we got back on the road and find a different campsite. The town was cute. We enjoyed a beer at the Nordic Restaurant, took a photo of the rainbow road and church and got back on the road.
About 2 1/2 hours later, we arrived at Hverir. It is a geothermal field hat has pools of boiling mud and hot springs. There was a strong sulfur smell. Stinky!! It was very cold so we did not stay long.
We found a campsite and made dinner, and then called it a night
We stayed at Vogar Travel Service. Showers were included in the price. There was access to an indoor kitchen and dining area and a pizzeria next door. The pizzeria offered free wifi. Vogar Campsite
Day 4 Complete!
The weather changed a lot this day. Snow, wind, rain. We experienced it all
